Installation & Configuration

Building and maintaining a solid foundation for your Enterprise Performance Management environment

Our infrastructure team at PureApps are well experienced in successfully designing and implementing some of the most complex Hyperion environments.

Following a completed and approved discover and design process, the build phase in our methodology is where we actually put the system together by installing and configuring the Hyperion components and ensure that they are properly integrated.

Scope of Build

The installation will not include non Oracle-Hyperion software such as the Windows Server OS, relational database system (SQL or Oracle DB), IIS or MS Office components. These are considered as third party components and should therefore be installed and configured by the client as part of the prerequisites for environment preparation.

The installation of Hyperion should always be carried out by an experienced Hyperion infrastructure specialist. This is to avoid issues and streamline time required to complete each task.

Build to Specification

The design specification defined in the design phase is the bible for the build phase and is used as the complete guide to how the system should be built. This ensures that the resulting system is built to the required specification that the client has agreed to and therefore expects to have in place.

Installation Issues

If there are any issues with the installation for any of the Hyperion components, these will be dealt with in the following order;

  1. The installation consultant will attempt to resolve the issue immediately.
  2. The issue is escalated to the wider infrastructure team members.
  3. A server request (SR) is raised with the internal PureApps help desk.
  4. A server request (SR) is raised with the Oracle help desk.

A record of all issues are recorded for future reference if required.

Knowledge Transfer

Whilst the installation and configuration takes place, it is recommended that an infrastructure representative from the clients organisation is available to shadow the process. This allows them to have the opportunity to make their own notes and document the process in their own format. However, we always provide an installation document with every new install that can be reviewed at a later stage.
